Let’s Do A Dragonfly Survey: Mark And Recapture Experiment
July 30, 10:00 – 15:00(?)

Here’s what we will do with your help!
1. Catch as many dragonflies as possible in the time allotted.
2. Mark them and release them back out to fly around again.
3. 2 hours later, try to catch as many as possible again.
4. Compare the number of those marked and record the number of recaptured dragonflies.
5. Using this number, we will teach you how you can estimate the number of dragonflies in the park.

Description: Target Participants are kids over Elementary 5th grade (12 y.o. and up) and their parents, Junior High School and High School students, University students and adults who will be led by Park Rangers and students from Meiji University in the first catch and re-capture experiment to study the dragonflies found in the Park.

What to bring: Drinks, lunch, hat, towel, sturdy shoes that you can get dirty, wear long pants, rain gear. Please register for this event with an email of the names of the participants, the age, and a cell phone contact number. Email: yachokouen@wbsj.org
